I’m watching the city flow,
lifeblood surges in a burst of noise and colour.
Beautiful city,
my city,
my home,
the noise of the river behind me,
how can I feel alone?
One day I may leave you,
dear city of my heart,
but inside me grows the lifeblood,
literature and art,
bleed me into the fertile soil and watch an inspired sapling branch out to become a magnificent oak.
